Now let's review a few key authors of Formative Research. Reigeluth and Frick (1999) wrote a seminal chapter regarding this methodology and its use in Instructional Design. Richey and Klein (2007) wrote a book on this methodology. In addition, we provided you with a segement from Brenda Bannon-Ritland's (2008) PowerPoint presentation on Design Research.
